William Busse, MD, is a University of Wisconsin Medical School Professor of Medicine and head of the clinical allergy and immunology section at University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics. He received his medical degree at the University of Wisconsin Medical School, where he also completed residency and fellowship training. Certified in internal medicine and allergy and immunology, Dr. Busse has special interests in asthma, exercise-induced asthma, virus-induced airway hyperreactivity, and anaphylaxis. He has also served on the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute’s (NHLBI) National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP) Expert Panel 2. Dr. Busse was recently appointed to the NHLBI/NAEPP Expert Panel 3, which will be developing new guidelines for asthma management.
