Michael Bloch, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Nevada. He is also Medical Director of the innovative community cardiovascular Risk Reduction Center at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nevada. Dr. Bloch completed his undergraduate studies at Princeton University and graduated from Georgetown University Medical School. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at New York Presbyterian Hospital–Cornell University Medical Center in New York City, where he also completed a fellowship in hypertension and vascular medicine.

A fellow in the Society of Vascular Medicine and Biology, Dr. Bloch is board certified in internal medicine and certified as a hypertension specialist by the American Society of Hypertension. Dr. Bloch has authored or co-authored a number of journal articles and book chapters. Since 1996, Dr. Bloch has served as a medical leader of Bridges to Communities rural health missions in Nicaragua.

Dr. Bloch is active in research concerning hypertension, dyslipidemia, and renovascular disease. His main academic interest is finding innovative ways to improve the compliance of community physicians in reaching aggressive blood pressure and lipid goals.
