Peter Carson, MD, is Associate Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. He is also a staff physician and Co-Director of Heart Failure Service at Georgetown University Hospital. He is a Principal Investigator on the WATCH trial, serves on the Executive Committee for the VANQUISH trial, on the Steering Committee for the BEST trial, and on the Endpoint Committees for the RENAISSANCE/RECOVER and the OVERTURE trials.

Dr. Carson is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, serves on the editorial boards of the Newspaper of Cardiology and the Journal of Congestive Heart Failure, and is an abstract reviewer for the American Heart Association and the Heart Failure Society of America. He has also authored or co-authored a number of articles on heart failure.

He received his medical degree from and was a research assistant and summer research fellow at the University of North Carolina. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center and a residency at Case Western Reserve University Medical School. Dr. Carson was also a Cardiology Fellow at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine.
