Naomi D. L. Fisher, MD, is Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Clinical Director of Genetics of Hypertension at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Fisher received her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. At Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, she completed both her internship and her residency. She was a Research/Clinical Fellow in endocrinology and hypertension, sponsored by the Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital.

Dr. Fisher's research has focused on the interruption of the renin angiotensin system at different levels (employing renin inhibition, ACE inhibition, and AT1 antagonism) in an attempt to understand its role in normal renal physiology and disease. She has a subspecialty certification in endocrinology and metabolism, studying the interaction between hormonal systems and their renal vascular effects in healthy humans and in patients with hypertension and diabetes.

Serving as a contributing editor to Current Hypertension Reports, Dr. Fisher is also the author of several journal articles, chapters, reviews, editorials, and abstracts. She is a Fellow of the Council for High Blood Pressure Research and a member of the Endocrine Society and the American Society of Hypertension.
