INNOVIA's Director Quoted in PharmaVoice

Monday, April 2nd 2007

INNOVIA Education Institute, LLC, Director of Editorial and Accreditation Services, Reggi Veatch, is quoted in PharmaVoice's March 2007 feature on successful continuing medical education (CME), CME outcomes, and barriers to studying CME outcomes.

Ms. Veatch leads INNOVIA's science and editorial staff and provides expert guidance on editorial issues for the full range of INNOVIA's educational offerings.  Emphasizing the importance of CME, Ms. Veatch stated that "CME is one of the primary ways that physicians stay current with the most timely clinical data, emerging therapies, and clinical practice guidelines after they leave medical school."

Noting that challenges for CME providers are tracking learning, learning retention, and changes in practice as a result of CME, Ms. Veatch said that "Increasingly, providers and supporters alike want to measure retention, decision-making confidence, and changes in learners' knowledge, skills, or competencies, track their real-time application in clinical practice, and demonstrate improvements in patient and population health."

To this end, Ms. Veatch commented that INNOVIA's focus is "...on understanding and measuring the links between educational objectives, methods of knowledge transfer, and learner preferences in the design of effective, relevant, and independent CME programs."

Ms. Veatch has a bachelor of arts in Communications from the University of Michigan, and is a member of several professional organizations, including the Alliance for CME (ACME) and the North American Association of Medical Education and Communication Companies (NAAMECC).

INNOVIA is a subsidiary of Columbia MedCom Group, a medical communications company headquartered in Columbia, MD.  Columbia MedCom Group is a premier network of medical communications companies serving the health-care industry.  Within the network are medicalliance, Inc., which provides medical communication services for the health and pharmaceutical industries and INNOVIA Education Institute, LLC, an accredited provider of educational programs for physicians and other health-care professionals.
